Golf fans will have a unique opportunity to win a chance to play alongside an LPGA star at Olympia Fields Country Club in suburban Chicago, a course that has hosted U.S. Opens and PGA Championships.

The PGA of America will host a long drive competition at the Chicago Golf Show on Friday through Sunday at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. The winner will earn a spot in the pro-am before the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Olympia Fields on June 27.

“The idea was people wanted an opportunity to promote the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship,” championship director Matt Larson said.  “Really for us and most importantly is that as we continue to grow this championship, it’s important for us to provide unique experiences for our fans and spectators.”

Fans will have three long drive attempts measured by TrackMan, and only drives that land within the fairway will qualify.

Larson said he expects it will take a drive around 300 yards to win the contest. The winner will be paired with an LPGA player…
